The new standard?

Yet again another extension many of you will probably think. We want you to consider whether you really need an EU domain-name. We at InfoPromo have quite a few reservations, yet in the end, we are forced to come to the conclusion that: if you don't someone else may be using your company name soon.

A 'dot COM' domain is the global standard; EU therefore can only become a good second. The drawbacks are many, advantages few. Money has to be forked out again in order to protect you companies name, less somebody else starts using it.

Another worry is that the site will need alternative content; you cant just paste your existing website on it, that can damage your ranking at searchengines.

150.000 hard disks are not enough!

Searchengines (including Google!) are chock full, taking in websites with an EU domain will take quite a while; do not expect any high rankings soon.
Google comprises out of 150.000 hard disks divided in three clusters, there's hardly any capacity left to take in another 3 million EU domain names.

There's a positive site as well.

Yet there is a positive side: this is another chance to register some good keywords or a name that you've missed previously. You also have a European face when exporting to other nations. So don't register left right and centre but reflect carefully over which EU domains you wish to register.
